Also, if you take into account, how Santa delivers presents to children, you can equivilate that with delivering 'presents' to the elite, given how they 'like'em young' and the fact the very time of year is Christmas.

The only way to logically explain the differences between the Prometheus Engineers and the Space Jockey race is that the Engineers symbolism is to emulate their creators. Perhaps even the Engineers destroyed their creators and adapted their technology.

I am a 91 child and I a agree totally with you. Glad I came across this video...because most movies from today are so boring. Think about Netflix. Quantity over quality... You can spend a half hour searching and you will find nothing interesting. Most of them are over produced and over acted and in absolute high definition - It's kind of boring! Also you find a lot of movies that are trying to copy stuff from old great movies. Hundreds of action or thriller movies we already saw. Some movies are so weird from the beginning that you lost the interest in the first 15min... What you find today is a movie full of sex scenes or trying to push some other things to the front... I don't want to go deeper in it.. But I think a lot of you will understand what I mean! I ask myself WHEN will we see a great movie again. A Filmmaker with a vision!

A wonderful tribute to an extraordinary actor and character. He was unforgettable. Thanks for pointing these things out. (Although I agree with all of your points, I still very much appreciate Arnold Schwartzneggar for his help in pointing out the cultural consequences on the family if a criminal becomes president again, since his own father was a very angry, unhappy person under Hitler.) But Michael Biehn/Kyle Reese is the GOAT!!!

I think that everyone is missing something here in the comments. I read multiple times that the guy who nods at Bill from the balcony is Ziegler, and that the reason he does it is because he recognised him. I find it ridiculous, like, how do you recognize a person all dressed up like this with a mask? Come on. Why the guy with sailor mask nods at Bill then? I think the explanation comes a couple minutes later when one of the girls from the ritual mistakes Bill for someone else. The later dialog between the girl and Bill clearly indicates that: Girl:"I don't think you know what are you doing" Bill: "I am afraid you' ve mistaken me for someone else". This hints to the fact that the girls from the ritual were assigned to certain people, and didn't choose their partner randomly. So, about the guy in the balcony, I think that he nods at Bill just because, exactly like the girl from the ritual, he mistakes him for someone else.

Robinson was absolutely perfect for this role. He owned it. Nobody could have done this better. The only other actor that could have played this role is Christopher Walken. Even then, it wouldn't be the same. The expansion of the Scorpio killer's backstory should have done albeit carefully. In the original story, Scorpio was named Charles Davis and he was a Vietnam vet. This could have come out while searching in Scorpios stadium residence. I would have chosen to bring this out during the search by discovery of box containing his discharge papers, Disability letter, photos of war implying war crimes, etc. Let Harry's partner discover this. Depth could have been added to the character this way to re-enforce how cruel, twisted and maniacal the man is. It would add a little more meat to the sandwich so to speak. Doing this would have kept the movie closer to the paperback story

Fantastic video. Only thing i disagree with is the idea that it’s a bad thing that modern movies are a puzzle box of old films thrown together. Every story ever made (except the very first) is essentially an amalgamation of stories and ideas that came before it (like pieces of a puzzle). What’s more important to me is how those pieces are put together to construct something new. Something new out of something old. I also disagree with the idea that movies have to look like reality. No they absolutely do not. In fact I find movies that go for the “realistic” aesthetic to be often the most uncreative in terms of visual storytelling. That’s not to say it doesn’t have its place but not every movie needs it. Just look at film noir. Set in the real world but has a very exaggerated, unnatural visual style.

It's interesting to think about the fact that Ken Adam not only worked as production designer for two of Kubrick's films (Dr Strangelove and Barry Lyndon), but also established the "look" of the James Bond movies, including their villainous lairs. For Goldfinger (which he worked on right after Strangelove), he conceived the interior of Fort Knox as a "cathedral of gold." Not sure what to make of that, but this video makes me wonder whether there's some kind of connection.
